my fish tank is 14 gallons. i bought it a little whil;e back, maybe 2-3 months, and was an aqueon kit sold by petco.

anyway, it came with a filter but it was too noisy.
so my girlfriend who's kinda big on all this said a sponge filter with an air pump would be good for the tank.
so far it has worked out nicely!
the fish all are growing nicely with no deaths.

the sponge is great and really easy to maintain.
im looking into filters for the tank though to supplement the sponge.
so what do you all suggest?
id like to know if parts are available for it too, so that way i can make repairs if necessary.
also, i hope it is quiet too, like really quiet...

thanks in advance!!!

yeah there are many HOB filters that are very quiet-- aquaclear 20 is a great choice

I personally like it when my filters make a bit of noise.. it helps me sleep at night lol

...i would suggest a aquaclear 20, it's quiet and you get to chose what media goes into.

:iagree:

I have one on a 10g, and it's been a great filter. Never a problem. :thm:

AC 20 would be a good choice.........:)

AC20 vote again. I got an AC50 on my 20 but its well over filtered. If you can stretch it go for the AC30 my experience is they all make the same low amount of noise. The whisper EX is also a silent filter

I say the AC it is the quiet one, and you can put in cermaics ^ a sponge for the optium filtration !!

For quiet operation--you can't beat the Whispers.
