Well, awhile back, I was complaining about my spixis not laying, but breeding up a storm. I moved them to their own tank (with two cherry shrimp) and I got an egg clutch shortly after. The clutch started to develop, but then I noticed the shrimp hanging on them and the eggs started to disappear way before they were fully developed. I hadn't seen any other clutches. Well, in the past 2-3 weeks or so, I've noticed that my frogbit and my duckweed started dwindling, very, very quickly. I assumed that my adults had gotten a taste and decided that they liked it better than my food, until I saw glop of eggs drop from some of the plants. The "glop" was half hatched, the other half were still making their way out. I took a very close look in my tank, and the huge bloom of pond snails weren't all pond snails, but a good mix of spixis as well.
I went from complaining about them not reproducing to wondering if I should find a small loach that is easy to care for that doesn't need a big tank, but that will eat snails, lol.
