Bubble Ram?

I've only ever heard of Balloon Blue Rams. I've never heard of Balloon Bolivians. I think you got a short-bodied Blue Ram.

If it is only an inch long. chances are this is a juvenile and may not display all the colors of the species.
either way. blue or bolivian.. they are great fish to have.

tetras go well with rams.

I do like short finned Black Skirts, do you think like 6 or so of them would do well?

Edit: Just wanted to add. After having him in the tank for a few days and having him eat up well and relax some from the trip home it seems he's showing a little more color. He does have a bit of red on his fins and a small amount of blue specks on his body. So I can assume he is a short bodied blue ram that some of you have described. Is that the same thing as a "Balloon Ram"? If thats the case I was sold what was advertised afterall!

Any current fish other than the DG and ram?

1 DG, the ram
2 White Cloud Mountain Minnows (which I may give to a friend)
5 cories (all small so far, non much bigger than in inch or so)
1 oto (will get 1 or 2 more soon)
1 hillstream loach (also small, about an inch and a half from head to tail)
2 ghost shrimp (both about an inch or so themselves).

So right now the DG is the biggest one in the tank.
I'm also interested in picking up a Boesmani Rainbow Fish, though I don't know much about them. Would one do well in this tank setup?

Here is a picture of the tank as it stands, sorry for the crappy pic. I have a cheapo camera.

bosemanis are very active and reach 4-5" long plus need groups...55 gallon is a minimum IMO. praecox rainbows would be more suited to your tank size.

With your stock you could go with a group of blackskirts, maybe 6-8 without the WCMM's.
