13 year old DAD...

They should be forced to raise this kid on their own without public assistance. They must learn that they cannot just do whatever they want without any thought as to how they are going to deal with the responsibility. Their parents can pitch in, but no public aid. That is rediculous! In my opinion, if you are adult enough to do the deed, then you can get job, finish school and raise your kid!

I have to vent..... I am tired of paying nearly $28,000 in taxes every year to support, amongst many other things, poor people that have nothing better to do than have sex. I am not against the poor nor am I against people that want lots of kids. I am against those that know they do not have the resources to support a child, yet go right ahead and add another one to the list!

This woman that just had (8 or 6) kids at one time is a prime example. She has no job! How does she afford to be artificially inseminated let alone take care of all these kids? I bet your tax dollars are hard at work! Ever wonder what would be on your statement if they itemized where every dollar of your tax money went? I bet we would all be pretty upset by what we saw.

Sorry for the emotional outburst. These stories just poke at my fire of frustration when it comes to these matters!

Thanks for letting me vent!

Bravo my friend! The best speech I have heard all year! Paying taxes just so you can pay for the people who sit on their backside all day with no job who live on benefits is wrong!
Great little outburst there Avionics!

LOL! Thanks. I just don't get it! How can you just be so irresponsible?

Thanks again for letting me vent! I feel better. LOL!

Stupidity. If they were like three I could understand it, but a 12 and a 14 year old????? They must have known the risk. You would have to be pretty stupid to not know the risks at that age.

:thm::thm:I think this is the way most people REALLY feel, myself included; however, should the children of these children have to pay for their parents irresponsibilty?

Yes but surely at that age they know the consequences!?I knew about sex, contraception etc. at that age! How did they not know? I did sex education when I was eleven and agin when I was twelve.
Maybe they new the risks but were taking a gamble. Or they were drunk, which in these days, nothing would suprise me.

Nothing has EVER surprised me..LOL...I am sure they knew the consequences. Consequences in their minds though are only short term. They might not get to go to a dance or a party next week-consequences in their juvenile minds-I don't know if I am for sure someone at that age has quite developed the ability to think through actions on a LONG term basis....But I digress that's a bit off topic. I think the immediate thing to do, if it were in the states, would be for the child protection agencies to step in and speak with the people who will ultimately be taking care of this child, the GRAND-parents and determine from there the best interest of the newborn.

I sympathize, but unfortunately it is the new baby who pays the price if we take this route. As much as we might want to punish these children for being irresponsible, we can't use their baby as the punishment. That baby is a human being who did not ask to be born at all, much less born under such circumstances.

I don't like shelling out taxes any more than the next person, but it's part of the deal. We all contribute to a safety net. We cannot make that net perfect. We will let some people fall who should have been caught, and we will help some people we perhaps shouldn't have. It's life. I would much rather live have a government that does not let people starve, that makes sure they get an education, that takes care of them when they are sick, than a government that lives in fear of accidentally helping someone too much.

Couldn't have said it better myself. =) This is the best post in this thread. Seriously, reading through this thread made me wonder how a lot of you can have so much compassion for fish, but none for people. What would you do if your kids were in the same mess? Throw them to the streets, let them handle it on their own? Throw your grandchild out there like that? Not me. I'd be mad, yeah. Ripping mad. But I would help them. Make sure my kids finished their educations so they could get good jobs to be able to support their kids in the future without my help. It's called breaking the cycle. If you just send kids on their own to raise their kids, how do you think that third generation will turn out? They'll do the same thing. When life is hard, vices are key. And let's face it, sex is a vice.

Fish don't answer back ;) LOL.
I know what you are saying, butif I had kids, I would make sure they didnt get into that mess in the first place.

i read that when it was in the paper and the boy looks about 8. Its really bad that hes not even old enough to go out to work for more than a few pounds a week as a paper boy. Schools these days do have sex education classes, free contraception offered at the family planning clinics, she at least is old wnough to have known better. She will just be another member of our society proud to be scrounging off the hard working tax payers. gggrrrrrrr
