Max Tang stocking frustration

nice to hear the tank working out. these lil cats of yours. do the tangs mess eith them or do they just keep to themselves?
 
oh thats a good size. i cant load daves in the computer im using right now. would you mind telling me what he charges for them? cuz i just googled them and it said they are generally expensive

Not inexpensive. The lucipinnis (aka petricola) were $15 for the large and $19 for the large.

Lovely stock in that Tang community, Dr! Very good decision with the bichir, IMO.
 
Petricola/lucipinnis are expensive because they're slow-growing fish. They generally require a couple years to reach sexual maturity, and about that much longer to reach full adult size. They can be bred in aquariums, but the eggs are tiny (about the size of a grain of sand) and so are the fry when they hatch. On the bright side, they will likely live for 10+ years.
