Python makes meal of Maltese terrier

Another snake story

I'm sure you have heard but there was another story about a python not that long ago:

A woman used to let her python sleep with her in her bed. It would coil up and sleep by her feet. A while went by and the python stopped eating. She let didn't think anything of it and let it go for a month before she started to worry and took it to the vet. The vet informed her that it was fine and that she had nothing to worry about, as they don't eat for a long while sometimes. 2 more months past and the python hadn't eaten anything still, so the woman went back to the vet. The vet asked if anything had changed or any abnormal behaviour in the last few months. The woman replied that instead of coiling at the bottom of the bed, the python would stretch out and lay beside her. The vet the told her that she had to bring the python in, as it was sizing her up and starving itself so that the python could eat her.:eek3: Freaky!

Actually I am betting if a Rottie took on a snake this size, it could have been killed.

I have seen pictures of a Florida kingsnake kill a Cat. These animals are experts in killing prey.

I own various species of snakes and have been working with them for years. They are an animal that is like a dual edge blade, very friendly and make very good pets but can also be deadly killers in their own right. Always respect the animal is my motto.

By the looks of it, it was a good size snake.

A large rot? not a chance unless it was caught by surprise, then maybe.

Dog got pwned. D: It mustve been hard for the lady.

You are so right, I do not understand people when they live in the country and wilderness areas and freak out when a Bear or Bob Cat attacks their dogs. You really gotta know where you live and realize you are living next door to wild creatures.
I agree theres people in Boulder, CO (not were I live) that leave there dogs outside or screen doors open and then a mountain lion comes in and eats there lab, then they want the DOW to go shoot the mountain lion because of there own stupidity. When I was in Iowa the only thing I had to worry about was racoons and possums and they can get pretty nasty.

although nature took its course here,

i would be very sad if it were my dog

BUT

she said the dog didn't come in for his routine breakfast??

if there are pythons running around my place..i wouldn't let my dog run around outside and wait for him to come back for a "routine breakfast?"

obviously the lady didn't completely protect her dog here! She didnt have the protection needed for a area such as were she obviously lives, right?
so i really don't feel bad for her. but if she were to accidentally have her dog run off...then id feel a little worse....

That's not true, it's an urban legend. Last time I heard that story it was a Boa and not a python. I think they talk about it on snopes.com.
