Lupin, that's all fine and dandy, but that wasn't the original reason (for the first post) given, the stated reason was it was rude, not off topic. I don't think bishop needs you trying to back him up, he already said he made a call and he stands by it, which respectable all by itself.

I posted several minutes be fore him... and was busy giving fishy advice...besides tracking all your posts...sorry.

Jalo, I stated my own reasons for deleting that offtopic post. It was not a "rude" post. Did you read one of the notifications saying the reason is "Offtopic. Air your issues privately with the staff please."?

The other "rude" post deleted by Bob is another matter. You mentioned you got two PM notifications since you created this thread. Correct, you did because I deleted one of your posts which was offtopic similar to the first post in this thread.

The mod staff works as a team. We coordinate what needs to be done. The post that I deleted was offtopic and not in line with your original thread about fish spa.
 
Just to clarify this one, the other notification was for an offtopic post, same message in your first post here in this thread which was unnecessary in a fish spa thread.

thats the reason for the post he deleted. he wasnt talking about anything any other mod did.

Re the OP:

IMO, you are incorrect in your interpretation that this is a moderator "love fest". I fail to see any tangible gain by securing "favor" with any moderator at this forum. What you are seeing is a general appreciation for the largely thankless job these mods perform and more importantly, a general acceptance that these mods are all human (Alien Bob notwithstanding).The vast majority of their activities are judgement calls. Unless there is a blatant violation of TOS, they must perform a subjective determination on a post's/user's appropriateness/suitability.

I am no yes-man nor would anyone confuse me with a generally agreeable fellow (big surprise there....). My reputation professionally follows my user handle. I generally have no problem stating my beliefs/opinions on matters and have/continue to do so at this site. I have been edited, deleted, warned, etc. and in all cases, I had the option to take up the matter (if needed) with the mod who performed the edit(s). All provided an explanation of their reasoning. Any moderator who is unwilling to directly explain their logic is performing a disservice. That said, I can not think of any moderator at AC who wouldn't. I can either agree with the reasons provided or we can continue to disagree. Ultimately, such editing has never materially affected my ability to contribute to the forum community. We're all subject to '"red" moderation but in the vast majority of cases, it is exceedingly reasonable.

Short version... we're all welcome here. Manage your own post content, object as needed, contribute to the Community, and enjoy the benefits of forum membership.
