This thing is really cool! I was super happy you had peacock gudgeons, I figured it wouldn't be. I would like to see bamboo shrimp and cherry shrimp in future editions.

Haha one of the member wanted that peacock gudgeon... I didn't even know what that species was before that...

Cherry shrimp is already part of the next release. I will add Bamboo shrimp as well. Hmm, come to think of it, don't I have cherry shrimp already? It should be called Red Cherry Shrimp.

Couple of quick questions..

Every time I input a Red-Tail Black shark it says "warning: this fish requires a vegetarian diet"? It doesn't give this warning until I add another fish and update it.

Also, I was always under the impression that tiger barbs could do well with most cichlids, but everytime I add them it says they're too small for those fish.

Like, introducing the tiger barbs to the aquarium first, letting them grow for a little while and then adding a young cichlid? I always thought that would work..

Thanks for any help!!

Actually, it is currently implemented very simple - it just tells you if you selected any vegetarian species. Currently, it does not go through all of them and determine if all can live off vege food only. I'll add that to the todo list. :)

Which cichlids are you referring to? There is an internal calculation that determines the difference in the adult size and if it is "too much", you will see this. Obviously it will need further tuning and some exception handling but more input I get, the better.

This is a learning experience for me too. I never kept Tiger Barb before. If this works, I can code this into the program too...

Thanks for the quick reply!

I was referring to Convicts, Jack Dempseys, and Green Terrors mainly.

And, what about GloFish? Those are essentially Zebra Danio's right? Would they have a chance with any of the other aforementioned Cichlids?

Glofish are still zebra danios. They're not going to survive those cichlids.

Thanks Lupin. Do you think Tiger Barbs are ok with those aggressive cichlids? I feel they are kinda out of place.
Aggressive, no. If they were passive, it'd be fine. It's subjective unfortunately and quite variable however they will work well with Bolivian rams, keyholes, festivums and acaras.

So are there any schools of smaller fish (2-3", like Tigers) that would co-exist with the aggressive cichlids? Or, do you have to keep them with fish of their own size.

Consider the tank size before you try any of the following. Filament barbs (Puntius filamentosus), arulius barbs and tinfoil barbs. Those are the few commonly available species.
