I think it's a loach...

It came with a small catfish when I bought a tank off of Craigslist.org...

I think it's a loach but I'm not sure. I'm also not sure if it's aggressive or not, it keeps sitting up like that that (in the photo) when I approach the tank. I thought maybe it was begging for food or possibly posturing aggressively. I'm kind of leaning towards food begging, I had to fish a veggie clip out of the tank and it was investigating me with it's barbels. But I don't know, if it's a loach, does it bite? Or what's it doing?

Anyway, it's about 7in and really fat. I was running through loaches.com and it looked like a few Pangio and Misgurnus species, made me think more that it was a loach.

I found another picture of it on my camera.

Its a sweet dojo. They are the nicest guys. And funny to watch! I love my dojos more than my husband....(They don't bite, they just do cute stuff)

*phew* That critter came swimming over to investigate me and I swear I thought it was going to bite me. Glad to know it's not. ^_^

Random question, will it eat smaller loaches? The tank it was living in I bought to be used as a crayfish tank ultimately, so I don't want it with the crays... they'll scratch and pinch it. The only open tanks right now have small 2-3" unknown loaches in them and one with a 6" Polypterus (I don't think the Poly would bug it, but it's got one heck of a powerful bite so I don't want to make the attempt). For right now, it's just with the catfish that came with it but eventually I have to get around to using that tank for what I bought it for.. :-\

p.s

If the his/her "Arms" fins are round, you got a girl, if they are more firm and pointed you got a boy....

Oo, looks like a boy then... they come to a point and look kind of hard, like that outer most section of fin is thicker than the other rays in the fin.

(makes giving him a name a bit easier now lol)
