I'm very late to the game on this, but I'm truly and honestly not worried about this at all. The bill has no co-sponsors and is currently in committee where the majority of bills go to die. With no co-sponsors the chances of this bill making it out of committee are extremely slim. On top of that, I could find no PACS or lobbying groups that actually support this bill which makes the chances even slimmer. I think people are panicking about nothing TBH.

Please everyone do not pay attention to this. This bill has a very real chance on passing. If you don't believe me go to www.pijac.org and read the pet alert. We need to be unified in this because the anti-pet movement is. And you can believe that.

Again, I disagree, but respect your right to disagree with me. I've been around long enough and followed the workings of Congress long enough to see stuff like this happen before. The main sponsor is someone from Guam of all places. Needless to say, she has little political power if any in the House. That being said, I have seen similar bills before aimed at outlawing different things. People panic, run around like the sky is falling and generally act out of fear and not reason. Then the bill that had no chance of passing in the first place dies and they go back to their normal lives. I'm just saying to people to not panic until the bill actually makes it out of committee (which I predict it has no chance of doing). Writing a Congressman who you are not a constituent of is probably not going to have a lot of weight. IMO people need to just calm down and wait for now. Again, you are welcome to disagree with me.

Hey, here's a website that was passed around on my local fish club's board that makes it very easy to write a letter to your state rep, even has a letter written up for you. There's also a video that explains this bill in human terms instead of government jargon. I've written to mine and will keep doing so...
