Fahaka Puffer/Motoro Stingray combo...

Great success! The puffer doesn't register the stringray as competition and shows curiosity rather than territorial aggression. I've provided some nice pieces of driftwood in the corner to provide the puffer with his own little sanctuary where he can pull up some sand bed for a rest without being bothered by a curious ray.

Hmm, I'd wait a while before considering a success. As puffers age and also as they grow accustomed to their tank, they often grow more and more territorial and aggressive. Did you research them on www.thepufferforum.com. I know there are several people who have kept fahakas for years and know much more than I do about their specific habits. As I recall, they are one of the more aggressive ones that should never have tank mates, even of their own species due to aggression.

I've never kept a fahaka, but this has been my experience with my GSP. It was fine for a few months then one day just started killing everything in the tank.

Sounds like a cool combo though, if it actually works long-term.

I've had this one for a while and I know his personality quite well. I tested his aggression levels with some feeders earlier on and he's a stone cold killer. But he's almost amicable towards the ray. I think it also helps that he's hand fed. If people were looking for an alternate food for their puffers, mine is crazy about crickets. Far cheaper than any other hard shell food I've found - but they make a mess of your tank.
