i need some ivertz for 10 gallon. i was thinking 2-3 peppermint shrimp, a blood cleaner shrimp, 3 mexican turbo snails and an emerald crab. would that work or is it to much?
Thats basically your preference.
What else is in the tank?
Do you have a sand bed?
If so get nassarius snails as they stir them up and bury.
Other than that it works.
Too many shrimp IMO. I'd skip the fire shrimp for this tank. I kept one in my 8 gallon for a while and I wouldn't do it again... the shrimp was just too big for the tank. A couple peppermints should work though. Skip the turbo snails as well- they get big and will knock stuff over in your tank. Nassarius are great for keeping sand stirred, and are entertaining as far as snails.
Mysis shrimp for those peppers... the snails are scavengers... they will stay hidden in the sand but once you put food in like mysis shrimp... they will pop out like NINJAS from the sand =p
Krill is more of a desert food for animals from what my pal tells me. I dont have any proof on that comment. I do know Krill is Phosphate heavy...has something to do with how they package it and juices from the krill.
The better source of daily nutrients would be Mysis shrimps...
But to answer your question yes if its that choped up krill that turns to mush after it melts ...
Those snails feed on any junk on or in the sand.... the Peppermints will eat anything just about...ive seen them pick apart a body of a silverside that fell out of a anenome's mouth.
wait krill are heavy in phosphates???? i think i just found the source of my phosphates!! ive been feeding my damsel this for a few weeks now and i guess all the phosphates just became enough for an algae outbreak! could that be it?
