URGENT: Shark's skin coming off/infected?? Help please!

Ok then, do a waterchange as soon as you can. Get his tankmates out of there and let him be in the tank with no one to pick on him. This will help in recovery by reducing his stress and keeping nibblers away! You need to do an 80% waterchange as soon as you can, and every day from now until he is healed. He needs clean water. If you can do large waterchanges EVERY DAY he will have a chance.

Can you do that?

Damo, those are extremely serious wounds. You have to prepare yourself for the possibility of losing him/her.

At this point, the wounds are too severe to even worry about infection... I don't see any signs of infection (yet). Poor creature has to heal. That cichlid has been beating up on it constantly for days. He needs to be isolated; period. Either go buy a tank, or buy a tank divider. He needs daily water changes of 75% temp. matched/conditioned water for several weeks if you want to save him.

Really sad and unfortunate...

Yes I can do that...Will do ASAP.

I'm going to the store later on, any medication to help? Types? NOT infection prevention? Any medicine to speed up his recovery/help him recover?

I'm prepared to lose it, but I hope now...=(

And another question: Does Golden Severum cichlids go with Oscars? Fighting?

No medications. Nothing to treat- just wounds.

Like Vader said: You need a water conditioner / dechlorinater. Make sure when you do waterchanges you match the temp and add the conditioner to the new water before pouring it in the tank.

Keep us updated. If any pinking of the wounds occurs (where it is white right now) that will be a sure sign of infection. Daily large waterchanges will prevent that more than anything else will. Try not to stir up your gravel too much- you dont want particles to get in his wounds.

Keep the cichlid away either by divider or moving him.
