I'm kinda disappointed. Last year I put dandelion leaves in the tank for the snails to eat and they were all over them. This year they show no interest whatsoever. Of course, last year I had different snails. Maybe these snails have more discriminating taste. What experience have others had with feeding dandelion leaves?

Should be fine. Is there a difference in teh "age" of the leaves? Perhaps the older leaves are more bitter and less palatable.

My mystery snails eat it. I do cook it down just a little for them.
My store sells it in such a big bunch, I put all of it in some hot water a few min to cook down, then break into smaller freezer bag portion, that i freeze for later use.

the frozen food i buy has dandelions in it, along with other greens... so far the snails have been all over it, in both tanks.

dandelions in general become unpalettable after they bloom. their leaves become bitter and tough.

for humans pick leaves before they have flowers otherwise they are very bitter, but i think snails should eat them, just keep trying and make sure that they are clean and not polluted with anything from your or your neighbors yard,..

I was not aware of that. I'll try to find some dandelions that haven't bloomed yet and pick the leaves from them. I have plenty to choose from.

I tried to find the smallest leaves but all the ones I found were larger and more mature. Perhaps the ones I chose were too far along to be tasty.
