great pics of the shrimp. Am I seeing the shrimp turning eggs? I ask because I have never had shrimp reproduce in my tank. I only bought ghost shrimp that were feeders for my dwarf pike cichlids that I no longer own. I had one that survived that was too big to eat. The blue crayfish are beautiful. Is this tank a shrimp and crayfish tank? or are there other fish in it? I have been thinking of getting into shrimp or crayfish keeping, but the only tank they can go in right now is my 10 gallon guppy tank.

Hi Jenazen! I do have shrimp and crays in the same tank. I have since learned that this is a no-no so I have been diligently trying to capture the shrimps (red cherries) and remove them from the crayfish tanks. I do not have fish in with them yet as the Cambarellus Patzcuarensis (CPO's for short) crayfish and p. alleni's are too small and they would be eaten by the fish. I do plan on keeping guppies with them when they get a bit larger. If you have glass shrimps they may not reproduce for you because the eggs hatch into a larval stage first. Your fish are probably eating them! Also, your filter may be sucking the larvae up into it if you don't have a sponge or netting over the intake. A better shrimp to have in your tank are red cherries shrimps. They are the bunnies of the dwarf shrimps! PM me if you would like to try some for your tank. The CPO that is shown was eating the snail eggs! They seem to really enjoy them!

Thank Msjinkzd!! They are truly amazing little critters to watch!! You will not be disappointed in them when you get some!!! The grow very slowly compared to the other crays that I have, which surprised me.

sounds like they would be a good addition to my 10 gallon guppy tank. I don't mind if they don't reproduce in my tank, but I would definitely put a sponge over my filter intake. My ten and 29 gallon tanks are planted so anything that eats snail eggs gets my vote. Don't get me wrong I don't hate snails, just pest snails. It seems like no matter how well I clean the plants I get from one of my LFS I always end up with snails a few weeks later. I don't have room in my budget for anything new right now, but I will keep you in mind for my next addition to my tanks. Could you recommend anything from the cleaner crew varieties for my 29 Gallon Ram tank?
