That would be cool the only place I can ever find them locally is a big box store that wants $9 to $12 for them and they are always in tanks with dead shrimp and I don't buy anything out of tanks that have anything dead in them.

You mean people other than online sellers sell shrimp species other than ghost shrimp.

The only shrimp species I ever see in stores anywhere are ghost shrimp... I'm having to order mine in in a few weeks from online (Cherries + maybe another species)

Well, depending on where you are this may or may not help you, but here in Trenton, one of our LFS stocks Bamboos regularly. Try Allquatics on S. Broad Street. To my knowledge they don't do mailorder, but it is worth a try. Also, just outside of Trenton is another store called Hidden Reef and they've recently started carrying Vampire Shrimp (very similar to Bamboo shrimp, but look waaayyyyy coooler). I really love those Vampires, but I'm just not in a position to buy at the moment or I'd have snapped them up myself.

i don't know about the lfs's in trenton, but the hidden reef sucks... they have 3 systems all plumbed to several tanks, and lots of dead fish EVERY morning... i have seen them tell people to use all kinds of products that are useless... they are good only because they have enough room to stock almost every product under the sun, but if ordering online there's always "that fish place" "that pet place" which i believe is closer to msjinksd and have a decent rep... i have ordered from them and will say out of the retailers i know of they are pretty decent... minimum deaths, and refunds for them... no problems... i would recommend pets plus or petco from oxford valley mall area b4 any other place local to me... but give no guarantees their stock is healthy either... i'd say you'd want to go there and see for yourself b4 buying as both tend to have ick outbreaks a couple times a year (more in the winter)... i would not take advice from any of them though... i've not gotten any good so far from any of them except the fish factory 2 lights east of the hidden reef on rt 413... and that was short lived and i have yet to have fish survive at all from there... just my luck... there is also marinedepot.com... if i remember correctly they are in arizona, maybe florida... but they often carry hard to find exotics... some deaths though, and not the best customer service for shipped critters... it took me 4 attempts to get a reply that was not a hangup... a total of 6 to resolve nothing, and shipping was astronomical... but that's how retailers do it, just worse.

conclusion... that fish place... definitely... unless you can take the trip... maybe still then too.

also... idk, maybe you know this, but wood/bamboo... they're hard to keep... filtering means water must have enough food in it and still be clean... they starve if they have to forage... i'd say best to feed with a pipette... they are awesome though... have fun in your quest... may the force be with you... and good luck... they're not cheap, or small

Thanks for the input but naming company names is sort of frowned upon:)

Really? I guess this feels like news to me. Perhaps I'm just used to other sites or Maybe I'm just misunderstanding. So when/if someone asks where someone can find a certain item or animal, how does one convey that info.? :help: Charades? :) Just kidding... but seriously, I'd like to know as I'd like to be helpful w/o violating board culture.

As for the aforementioned stores, as always, YMMV. My experiences are generally good with any store, product, etc. that I'd recommend. However, there are always bad shipments, hard to keep fish, crappy employees, and so on, everywhere.

It is more frowned upon to say this and that store is bad don't go there than to really name the exact name is what I should have said:)
