Hello all, I am just checking in with you guys to see if everything with my name is normal or not.

Day 1 - I added ammonia up to about 4/5ppm

My stats after checking everyday for 8 days now

Ammonia - 4/5 ppm
Nitrites - 0
Nitrates - 0

I have added some of that good bacteria stuff to try and help the process of getting nitrites started but still nothing. Now my tank is getting kinda cloudy I cant see from 1 end to the other side long ways anymore. Is this normal?

btw 55gallon tank / gravel bottom / 2 airstones going / no fish yet / hob filter

One thing to check, make sure you take care of chlorine/chloramine.

Im running into every problem in the book trying to fishless my first tank and learning as I go. I found out that I had to use double the amount of prime recommended to get rid of my chloramine, which killed all the bacteria in my first 'seed'.

I had the cloudy reaction but ammonia never dropped in 3 weeks.
