Anyone with this stand? #2

i like it and use metal stands for most my tanks and its a good price.

I pretty much got lost among all this, does anyone have that exact metal stand, or are we all just talking about how much we love our own metal stands?

I'm thinking about buying it.. but I hate to be the guinea pig.

Here we go again :)

To answer your question, no, I don't have that stand. But opinions are free, so here's mine:

I would be a little bit concerned about the "nylon leveling feet". If they're a small diameter, that's a lot of weight on just four points. I'd prefer the weight to be spread out a little more. Also, are the adjusting mechanisms strong enough? Other than that, it's a great looking metal stand. I like the box tubing and diagonal braces. Looks very sturdy.

I guinea pig'd.

I ordered it last Thursday and it came in today. Easy ten-minute assembly, basically just screwing into holes. And you know I'm good at that. Oh, I'm nasty.

Transferring the tank from the old stand to the new one however, that was a backbreaking task.. almost literally.

The stand.

Screws on the side.

The leveling feet. Really big screws, basically.

The leveling feet, raised. Seems harmless enough for the smaller models, but I probably wouldn't trust it if I was putting something like a 55g on it.

No pictures of it with the tank on yet, because I'm still 'scaping the darn thing. This also pretty much means all my tanks are now on metal stands.

Now that is what I call an excellent value, great price, best construction, and a bit of elegance the black square frame matching an all black tank frame and canopy. A big difference in looks compared to rot iron or angle iron. You could even install shelves later and place a matching cloth bloomer around it if you wanted to hide stored items underneath.

Looks wonderful
Good luck
What is the thickness of the metal bars?

Excuse my poor drawing skills with the mouse.

The blue lines are 2", the green is 1".

Thanks for being the guinea pig Vampie! I think I am going to buy this stand for a 20L now, but I'm waiting to see it with the tank :D
I'll try to get one tomorrow. I'm still waiting on the water to clear up.
