Thanks the chalice is just a purple chalice with green mouths. no name. i figured id start out cheap to make sure they like my tank

I have the same chalice, over time it ended up getting more green in the center than purple. Here is a pic I took a while back before I fragged it.
Sorry, the pic is not that great, but it has got a little more green since this pic was taken.

i moved my chalice into the shade and off the substrate.. sound like a good call? ive been reading that they grow faster out of direct light.

Should be as long as they don't get too hot or cold. Feed just before you leave.
