This Morning:

20 Gallon Tank:
Betta
7 Zebra Danios
6 Neon Tetras
3 BN Plecos

*Finishing treatment of ich with Coppersafe. I removed all plants from the tank*

10 Gallon Tank:
2 African Dwarf Frog

10 Gallon Tank:

Guppy Pair
Guppy Juvie
3 Guppy Fry (In breeder net)

I received my package from Snoopy today and put everything in the 10g with the Guppies. The 20g is not safe for invertebrate or plants, and the ADF tank is 88 degrees! Will be definitely switching out the bulbs tomorrow. They get too hot and are an ugly yellow light.

The package came with:
5 cherry shrimp
10 Ramshores
10 MTS
3 Bridgesii

The ADF 10g should have the proper bulbs and temperature by tomorrow afternoon and in a week or so when I start removing the ich medication (don't worry, I have a copper test kit, I'll know when its completely gone) the 20 gallon should be good to go. What do you guys think I should put in each tank?

I was thinking of putting the 3 Bridgesii in the 20g tank, the 10 ramshores in the ADF tank, and leaving the MTS in the Guppy tank (since most of them have already disappeared into the sand).

Not sure on what to do with the cherry shrimp. I know the Betta will try to eat them, but what about the ADF? I feed them frozen brine SHRIMP. Do they have the taste for shrimp now? Should I just keep them in the Guppy tank?

P.S. I am not opposed to moving the Betta back in with the 2 ADF as he was before. Would like to keep him in the 20g though.

What you have are incandescent lights. Those do give out too much heat unlike fluorescents.

You are underestimating the copper traces. It will take a long time before your 20g would ever house any inverts at all.

Yeah, I'm going to replace them. They give off a yellow light that I do not like.

Would the tank be safe for plants before inverts?

What about a carbon media? will it help eliminate the copper?

The plants will be fine but the invertebrates are not. Even with activated carbon, traces of copper will remain in the decorations and sealant. Sorry about this but the 20g can no longer house any inverts anymore. This is the primary reason I hate to use copper based treatments as I do not know when my plans will ever change that would include inverts in the list or not.

Well that stinks. So pretty much any trace of copper is going to kill/get my inverts sick? Two LFS owners recommended me coppersafe for ich. I wish they had that natural ich attack stuff. :wall:

For ich, table salt and heat should have sufficed. This is what the forum is here for. If in doubt, make a thread and the folks here will clarify matters for you.

I did make a thread and tried heat with salt, but I used regular table salt so I was hesitant about it and didn't add enough salt. I went to the LFS and looked for Ich Attack which was recommended here, but they didn't have any and I ended up with Mardel Coppersafe.

Regular table salt is fine. I have no issues using that for ich. No reason to be hesitant with it.

Will do that if there is a next time. Hopefully not.

I guess my 20g is going to be fish only and lightly planted. I'll just split the snails between the two 10 gallon tanks. Snails are safe with ADF right?

The snails will be fine. ADFs tend to be rather blind over anything.lol ACFs though are another thing.
