So i got all my equipment, light, filter..everything.
today was the ups shipment of my three bags of eco complete...but when it arrived, surprise..only two bags, petsolutions messed up and forgot one bag, they said their sorry and will ship it out tomorrow for mondays delivery..but my plants will be here tomorrow
so now what??
can i just float the plants in the tank until monday?? id hate to plant them in just 2 bags of eco substrate and then have to tear them out monday and replant all over again

i have bad luck :(

should be fine floating, I would turn them so they dont bend towards the light if they dont sink to the bottom.

thanks will do :)
so i should run a normal light cycle? 65 watts over 29 gallons
and should i just fill the tank 1/4 filled with water and save the eco for when all three bags are here?
or should i fill the tank eco and all and then pour in the last bag when it arrives? not sure if that will make an eco mess tho pouring it into the water?

if you'd like them to sink down so they have less chance of growing funky (from trying to grow towards the light) you could always lightly wrap some planting strips around the bases. sinks them right down without any permanent commitment as to their location ^_^ (and, if you aren't bothered by it, you can just push the lead base right down into the substrate when you're ready, and they'll be guaranteed to stay put ^_^)

deeleywoman, what are planting strips?

can they grow funny in just four days?

can they grow funny in just four days?

Some of them, probably. I've had some grow crooked in my tank, and when I move them, they straightened out in less than 4 days. Depends on the plant I would guess, and possibly not if you're not giving them ferts or co2 in those 4 days.

planting strips are little pieces of soft metal that you can bend and wrap around the bottom of your plant to hold them down.

your plants when they float can have the tip of them grow up towards the lght. kinda looks like a crowbar. it can happen in less than a day.

im not sure what to do lol
ok so what do i do with 2 bags of eco, plants and one more bag of eco coming monday??

I keep my extra plants in a Sterilite shoe box in my kitchen window, were it receives bright indirect light. I have had them survive for weeks this way.
