never heard of those plants- whats the purpose of them being in the tanks?

to remove nitrates/phosphates etc.. or just for looks.

you never heard of mangroves???? they are actually a tree not a plant but i guess that's the same. i have some that around 36" and i have heard of much larger.

Darn, I got excited until I saw the minimum of 5. I don't have a use for that many.

did you just find these on the beaches? iv actually kept some of these in a freshwater hob for a few years, they didn't grow bigger but they were otherwise normal with leaves and a ton of roots. anywhere besides hob's didn't work for me tho

not around here in the north- I know they're trees but never realized they had a purpose- sounds interesting- now am thinking about using those instead of duckweed in some of my tanks-

how much more effective are they vs duckweeds?

no i did not just find them on the beach. it is illegal to just yank them up without a permit :)

not sure on that one as i am mainly a salt water aquariust i do know it takes a while for them to make a dramatic change. once they are rooted they are awesome.

Are they a tough plant? Can they withstand crayfish??
