Very cool! Congrats.

Jeez, that is a large hatch
what's in your water?

Obviously, Sugar and Spice.....

LOL! Sugar and spice! The size of the spawn also surprised me. I figure there's at least 50 of them, and about 10 died early on. It's been interesting to have had them outside of the cave as a new hatchlings instead of hidden in the cave until they can forage for food. I've seen things that you don't know happen when they're hiding in the cave. There were at least 2 that somehow separated from the egg sac so they had no way to be nourished during the egg sac absorbing period and they died, and a few couldn't properly absorb their egg sac. It became obvious as the others sacs were being used up normally, with these few their bodies were not properly utizing the egg sac and it remained large while the fry got weaker and weaker. If they continue to have large spawns like this you'll be seeing some of my pairs up for sale in the future. I've got 9, 6 females and 3 males. I was under the impression that they had much smaller broods.

Sara....it's a good 5 days before they even start to move around much. Then it's Hikari First Bites, Microworms, instant baby brine shrimp and very, very mushy zucchini. Feeding every few hours. I am getting really super growth on my sterbai fry and these guys.

Thanks Dopehand! I enjoy my hobby immensely.
