is a leopard gecko under tank heater optional or required????????????????????
or if your house is warm do you still need it?????????????????????????????????

Yeah, you would probably still need it when the seasons change(Unless your place is always warm with the air conditioner), it may get cold so that's when your heater activates when it senses chills

You need a heater because it is part of the geckos metabolism. laying on the heater helps with the digestion of their food. That is why an under tank, or heat tapes are preferred over heat lamps.

so that's why my heater is not working now?:help:

Ya because your place is warm enough already

You can use a 50-75 watt light bulb to heat it until you get an UTH.

Just be sure to get the correct size and wattage. You dont want it to hot. If it gets over 95 you can always use a dimmer on your heater to tone down the heat.

And yes you do need it for your gecko.
