Earthquake

Wow.....

Not a drop spilled. Everything appears as nothing has happened.

Thanks for the luck guys!

What a relief.. for you and the others who've reported no damage. I got the breaking news report of a major quake in LA and was so worried.

I grew up in S. California, right along the San Andreas. I'm nowhere near that now, but still felt a quake in the middle of the night a several years ago that literally threw me out of bed. It's something I'll never forget... and impossible to describe to someone who's never felt how unstable the solid ground beneath us can be.

All the best to everyone.

Little late to post in this but my 125 gallon freshwater survived.
I am over by Long Beach so it was relatively no damage at all.

Water splashed on the side but not that bad.
My fry tank that had about a dozen little Red Shrimp tipped over and I lost 11/12. Only one male Red Shrimp in theere and a fat looking guppy that looked happy as it was partially tipped over.

I read a stat somewhere that we have over 10,000 quakes a year here, however the vast majority are too small to be felt.

That's pretty much true. Unless you're right on top of it, you probably won't notice one below 3 on the scale. And, even then, you might pass it off as something else.

The USGS maintains a frequently updated map of recent earthquakes. :read:

I'm sorry to read that. Was it on a table?

The big earthquake wouldn't damage anything too much. The houses in California are made to survive 8.5 earthquakes, and people who DO die in them have ghetto houses.
