Developing an algae problem...what is this?

Alrighty then. I had been adding ferts, just regular Flourish. I stopped when the algae started getting bad in hopes it would cure it. I am not running CO2, not even sure how to do it. My light is a 30in Coralife Aqualight T5 dual strip. Each bulb is 18 watts, so 36 total.

i think that co2 should be in your future. look up diy co2. or if you have some money to dump, you can get a pressurized co2 system (much better). i think that's a bit too much light to not have co2. can you run 1 of those bulbs untill you get co2? and only for 8hrs a day?

I don't think it is necessary to run CO2 with that much light, but in your case it might help. DIY is much better than any of those cheap products, which don't do much for tanks over 10 gallons.

Dropping the flourish probably wont help. It only slows down the growth of your plants, which lets algae take hold. Nutrients were not your problem in the first place.
