I have Harlequin Rasboras in my 33 gal tank, along with one male Beta and some Otos'. I love the Harlequin Rasboras, because of their color, which is lovely when they are healthy! They are interesting to watch, due to the way they interact with one another in bumping off each other ect and they school both tightly and loosely depending on their mood. lol I also find them long lived and hardy and they never nip at other fish, which is one of the reasons I chose them to live with my Beta!

you convinced me, i'll get the harlequins
maybe i should get 8? this way i can get maybe some other kinda of schooling tetra later on?
just curious, why more cories? i mean from what i see of them they dont even interact with each other :huh:

Harlequins are a great choice!
Cories are shoaling fish so they are MUCH happier and healthier when kept in groups of 6 or more. They should be interacting with each other, if you added a few more you would get to see their true behaviors, which is quite adorable.

are they racist? lol meaning like can i get cories of different varieties? right now i have a peppered and an albino

You will get mixed feedback on that question but from my understanding different species of corydora will (kinda) shoal together but they know there is something not quite right with there other buddies and scatter more often then if in a single species shoal. It always depends on the individual fish too, I had a zebra danio that swore he was a cherry barb. 
They tend to shoal together. I have 5 that play leapfrog with one another. It's actually pretty entertaining to watch

::nilly::huh: i here ya... i had an otto that pestered the rest to death. meanwhile he thought he was an sae. when they got too big for him to "play with" he decided he was a farlowella. he did the "hey spike" thing for a little while. farly was like :frog:... :nono:... so he nipped and brazed, lazed and repeated. he couldn't get farly to respond though except for the occasional whip of the tail. it almost seemed mr. farly was saying "nyaaa, go away kid ya bother me". needless to say no more otos for me... i just can't stand watching them die.anyway, what about black neons for another option?
