I am away for the weekend. This is the first time I am away since I got my Oscar at about 2 inch size. It is about 7 inch now and is alone in the tank and is used to eating Hikari pellets every day with some other vegetables once in a while.

Is it ok if I feed him well on Friday noon, leave and come back on Sunday night and feed it?

A healthy fish should be able to go 2 days easily. I don't think there's a need for extra feeding before you go. He'll be hungry when you get back, but it shouldn't be a problem.

Yes, I've left my fish for up to a week without food with no ill effects.

If anything it's good to let adult fish go hungry for a day or two. I do this with all my adult fish about once per month.

like the others said yep its alright

Don't bother with the vacation feeders. A decent sized Oscar will eat that in one meal.

As stated above, it is just fine to go a few days without food. They can go a month without (not recommended). Don't be surprised if he gets all pouty and po'd when you come back and refuses to eat for you. My Oscars will skip a couple of meals here and there with no ill effects. Do not over-feed before or after! It isn't good for them.
