EI, CO2 and holidays

I'm using EI dosing, which means I'm adding ferts every day. A week's holiday is coming up - what should I do?

Leave CO2 and lights on timer and stop dosing;
Leave CO2 off, lights on 1wpg and stop dosing;

Or any other suggestions?

Do you have somebody who can dose for you? If so those weekly pill dividers they sell at the drugstore work great for measuring out day by day things. I use them for my food and ferts when going out of town and leaving my tank in care of somebody else.

And do a big WC before you go.

Can you get a timer??

Timer's no problem. Getting someone to dose would be.

I am going to be away for a week I am just going to reduce the light period.

I figure less light=less demand.

Less light(intensity more than anything, but shorter time frames also can work) and leave the CO2 on............

This is a good reason to have a rich sediment like MS or ADA AS.....it's a back up in cases there's nothing in the water column.

A large water change and rather lean dosing after, if you add a lot, then the plants will grow more.

Also, trim well before you go.

This is good for a week, evaporation is a real issue also.

I'm leaving for Oz in a month or so, for 2 weeks..........

I'm hiring a friend to come take care of things.
