The company claims to be in India. Shipping internationally has all kinds of potential hazards. It could be a legit company, but based on what I've seen, and Kashta's post I wouldn't buy from them. I'd keep looking for a domestic source.

I'm assuming that you are in the US though, Wycco.

I hate it when people don't know how to scam correctly.

Hi everybody,

I’m from Make My Hobby, looks like here we can see lot of ill feeling and wrong information.

We received this forum post URL by one of our site visitors on Live Help customer care service.

I would personally like to answer any questions you may have regarding company policy for overseas shipping. You can always drop an email directly on website www.makemyhobby.com.

Any person who claim here that we cheated please post your INVOICE NUMBER in this forum’s post so that we can clear the issue openly and close the thread that is created in first place for damaging MMH’s image.

It’s hard to create a company’s image but tarnishing it without firsthand experience with the seller and providing free for all unsound and unreasonable advice is purely unethical.

I also request people like Kashta who mentioned here they have placed order but didn’t received any email from us and eventually taken refund to give Invoice Number so that I can see what is the actual issue.

Wow... somehow I missed the reply from the website. It is good they are responding and we can see the other side (and not in a veiled form).

Thank you- I did that back in May/June timeframe... twice... and never got a reply. Which is why I asked people on here if they had any luck ordering from your website. I could try again but I am actually no longer in the market for anything so no need for me to... and, no offense, but you can understand why I would be skeptical to use your services.

The point of this thread was not to bash the company but to ask advice from anyone who had shopped from it and to get first-hand advice.

I received first-hand advice from people. It's hardly "unethical" to ask people if they have experience with a company. Nor unethical to respond to a request. If you were accused of a scam and are not, you have to understand that in todays global climate and your less than perfect response/product delivery people could jump to that conclusion.

No one is out to tarr the company- but it doesn't help to aquire customers by attacking and accusing people of being unethical for expressing their experiences.

I was actually hoping when I started this thread a month ago to have a flood of reliable people reassuring me that, yes, it's a great place to do business, because the prices are very competative.

That didn't happen though.

Good luck with your venture.

This thread is the 12th match on yahoo search, the 11th is another forum with a post from a guy named "Ice" advertising the site.

Wow talk about trolling!

What you are receiving is hearsay not firsthand experience as there is no tangible evidence that an order booked, not shipped and money disappeared.

Its like there is a debate going on moon colony in NASA and owner of grocery store giving his opinion on technical aspects of the mission. I hope you got my point. Without related to the cause there is no logic in giving your point of view.

I don’t know from where are you but I assume you are not from India, in that case do not order any Live Item like Fishes as we do not ship overseas. We do ship Aquatic Plants overseas but only in bulk as it need to accompany Phytosanitary Certificate or that consignment will be seized on your end.

As company policy we do not indulge ourselves in endless debates on forums, as they go nowhere. So if I don't reply to every free adviser that doesn't mean we have something to hide. If there is any invoice number given with claim as we eaten the money, I will attend to that issue as I assured in my previous post. Until then goodbye and I hope moderators of this forum will show some decency in not promoting such things in future.

You lost me when you compared this thread to NASA and the moon..

barbuto, everything can be compared to NASA and the moon.. fish, plants, television, sodapop, even the very essence of life itself can be compared to NASA and the moon.
