Thanks. The owner did show with his head down and gave me $220 and said I could keep the tank, I told him to cheer up its OK, and gave him back $49 (no change) for what it was worth.

But yeah, this concludes this drama thread and my next thread will actually be the DIY step by step with photos. watch for it, it should be a slow but complete fix.

:thm::thm:
now you have a diy project to work on.

at least there are some good people still on this earth. ;)

schweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet

that is a great finish to this mess look forward to seeing the finished tank

Edit: WOW he actually gave you your money back??? who thought there were still honest people these days

that is a great ending and kudos to you for even giving him the benefit of the doubt...i read the other thread and it is exactly what just happened to me

except my guy totally refuses to answer the phone and swears up and down he didn't make the chip in the front pane (even though I know for a fact he did)

that makes my day honestly

Very impressed! Glad to here it worked out for ya. That's still a deal, need to repair both but a deal none the less.

I will be looking for your next thread. Arkangel77

Thanks everyone for your kind comments as soon as I start cutting out the bottom glass Ill start posting the DIY replacement. Everything is stalled for the moment as Im waiting for a call back from "All Glass" and " Glass Cages" on the tech question we all have been struggling with, can I get away with the bottom glass being caped on top of the 4 panels instead of inset.
glas-cutters warned me that the factory cut glass can be off by as much as 1/8th inch and that would be a problem if it was cut too big doesn't fit back inside the inset vs a simple cap job. Even by 1/32 it will not fit back inside the 4 panels and the glaciers told me they don't have the equipment on site to grind or trim 1/2 inch glass down even if it's not tempered.

So I'm trying to get confirmation from aquarium manufactures what are the size or structural requirements if any with a cap over glass bottom vs inset glass bottom as I would hate to have the seams fail due to a weaker design bottom assembly because of 1800 pounds of water.

The good news is that 30x24" side panel with the chipped bottom is that after thinking about it suddenly occurred to me that all I have to do is remove and flip that panel bottom side up and fill the now top chip with Duraglas Filler then silicone into the top frame as the chip will mostly be inside the top plastic frame anyway. Also I will be able to do the side panel at the same time as the bottom glass panel because I forgot that despite having the bottom and one side panel removed leaving 3 side unsupported, the 3/4 inch top center glass brace (24x6) will also be supporting the open 3 sides from the top so that should be enough shape support to get away with doing both the bottom and side-flip panel simultaneously to make one continuous inside silicone seal once the sandwich seals have cured.

see i knew you would figure this out!
