Just thought I'd share some photos of my new juvenile Varanus acanthurus brachyurus pair I just got in the mail this morning. I've always loved monitor lizards and I've wanted a pair of this species for a while now so I'm really excited about getting them. They've settled in quickly and were already eating crickets after being in their new enclosure for 5 minutes. The male is about 6 weeks old and the female 4. Within 10 or so months I should get my first clutch of eggs!

Right now they're in a 50 gallon breeder. I'll keep them in that for a few months and then I plan on building them a much larger custom enclosure.

I would have loved to afford a trio but I'm pretty broke. I probably shouldn't have even bought these 2, lol.
