Hey so..somebody at a store said that Paradise Fish are a mix of a gourami and a betta. Is it true?

Nope. They're in the Gourami family of Labyrinth fish, Osphronemidae.

They are all in the Osphronemidae family of fish so some would say they are similar, but not a mix like a labrodoodle.
