my last batch of angelfish started getting tattered fins than one by one they dropped like flies. i looked in my tank this mrning and my new batch (i've had for about 6 months) is starting to have the same tattered fins the otherones had! what is going on. i posted about this last time and everyone kept saying fin rot it's not. the fins are just disappearing! i have to go to work i'm just gonna raise the temp and hope for the best until i get back.

you need to post parameters.

we have very little information to go in.

tattered fins? how many angels ? what is the tank size? how long have you had them?
are these babies?

sounds more like aggression. "my new batch (i've had for about 6 months)"

if you have group of angels I would guess these are establishing a pecking order. or possible Pairs forming.

we need more info tho.

parameters are all fine 0,0, and 10 p.h is 7.2 i uped temp to 85.tank is a 65 gal. They did start to pair up, the tanks been up for 9 months, about 6 months ago my other group of angels started to get tattery fins and slowly died off one by one, there is a def pecking order and the big boss has tattery fins so i'm kinda worried. theres four of them (blue blusher, gold pearly superveil, zebra, silver) i know i should have more but my blusher and dark zebra lace didn't make it.

Sounds like aggression between them, try and keep a close watch on them, if it is fighting then you may need to re-home some. Try rescaping your tank if possible to break up their line of sight, it might help.

if you have aggression in the tank then you will need to deal with this.. the aggression will cause stress.. this leads to other issues.
the remedy is to move the fish around.

what is the footprint of the 65?

you can if you like but the footprint is length and width.

vertical ht helps (how tall the tank is)
the footprint gives a picture of room

angels will need territory especially if you have a pair. they are also very aggressive(con specific-within species)

a pair will try to shred other angels in the tank.
the fighting will lead to stress which opens the fish up for other issues as stress can weaken the immune system.

Try reducing the total number of pairs in your tank. If two of them have paired off, then stick with those two and remove the rest.

Yeah, this doesn't sound like a disease,it sounds like too many mated pairs in a tank that is not big enough for them. They are killing each other. Remove all but 1 pair.
