Anyone own the fluval edge?

IMO, they are only good for shrimp or plants, and maybe a couple TINY nano fish, and too expensive for that :D The surface area is so small, i can't imagine that it would be good for the fish. There isn't enough area for efficient gas exchange.

I was thinking about doing a nano marine tank. Maybe just with some live sand, live rock, and a few shrimp or something.

It really depends on your experiences. If you have experience in aquarium keeping and more importantly nano saltwater tank keeping then you already know what you'll be dealing with on this edge system which is also difficult to clean and fit your hand in IMHO.

If not so much experiences I recommend you investigate the maintenance on this tiny tank as I think there is a video tutorial on it on You tube somewhere. Personally I have learned that maintaining a small tank is about as time consuming as maintaining a large tank, so I like a big food print now.

Its not bad actually, the Edge comes with an aquaclear filter. I have a buddy that has an edge with a blue Crowntail Betta and has no issues with it.

It looks cool if you willing to deal with the maintenance and relatively high cost. I don't see why it wouldn't be a good betta tank.

Anybody else look at the pictures and see the one with the fluval tank sitting in the middle of a somewhat long unsupported glass table? Seems like a recipe for disaster to me....

i got it this christmas and it is amazing and im having no problems with it. the fish seem to have no problem with the surface area

6 gallon is plenty of room for many fish...I knew the stocking police would be out on this...

i actually have been thinking about starting a nano marine tank, i already have 2 and i dont think id have a problem dealing with it.. the back portion is perfect for a little refuge for cheto. perfect for something like Got2Envys little perfect ricordea gardens, id probably make mine into a Harlequin shrimp enviroment.

i have actually been thinking alot about that aquarium, it looks cool as hell
