Any ideas for my 29?

Couple limitations:
  • no julies
  • no shellies unless they're rare
  • active
  • colorful
  • breed relatively easily

Thanks

A colony of Neolamprologus Walteri 3 to 5 specimens or a colony of 5 Lamprologus Congoensis..

I wouldn't do a community in this tank to small for aggressive differences so i would stick with a species only setup..

I have a proven pair of Australoheros oblongum available that would fit your tank and criteria, but they're SA cichlids, not African.

What do you think of your walteri, pitt?

what about lethrops? the blind fish. i dont know anything about them bet they would be cool.

Toddnbecka - if you wanted to get rid of them, I'd take 'em, but for some reason, even when I kept CA and SA cichlids, I always wanted Africans.

Austinpetemo - I think the behaviors of lethrops are interesting, but personally, I think they are kind of ugly.

i dont know anything about them. do they get big?

Seriously thinking about getting cyanostictus. Would 1m/2f be okay, or would a pair be better. I have heard of their rep, and I want to check first.

hmm. that im really not sure on. i know 2 males will destroy each other. but i think the female that is left out will be killed because as far as i know they are pair bonding, but im not 100% sure on that.

Sorry, didn't notice what you asked before about lethrops. I know nothing about their size, and I have no idea if one has even made it out of Africa yet.
