Stocking a 29

yeah i cant seem to find info on them.

The Walteri is a cool Tang they resemble the Brichardi a bit but a lot more black contrast to them. I have some in my 125gal they are cool and really dont take crap from others..

well yea. look at the brichardi! they dont take crap either. once they get breeding they become an aquatic mafia

So what do I go for:

the mafia
the not so mafia but still mafia
gobies
nigripinnis
something else

You will have to decide my friend there all good choices..

If I can find gobies, definitely.

Anyone had experience with xenotilapia flavipinnis?

not in a 29. i wouldnt recomend paracyps in a 29 either. not in the long run anyway.

A 29 is way too small for any of the gobies, and would be too small for Paracyp's as well. Another option for a 29 would be Lamprologus buescheri. Only drawback is, they aren't particularly active fish IME. They mainly tend to hang out under cover among the rocks. They aren't too difficult to breed but spawns are quite small, only 2-5 fry at a time for young pairs. Not a bad thing if you don't want to be overrun with fry though.

i disagree. my gobies arnt a very active creature. a bonded pair would be fine but i wouldnt put any more than 1 in there otherwise due to conspecific aggresion. they should be fine in a 29, just depends on what species your putting it with. i keep one in a 55, and one in a 30. they couldnt be kept in the 55 together anymore. i havnt read anything on the tank limitations of a goby cichlid but i dont see why it couldnt be kept in a 29.
