I'm curious as to what people do for a cover on tanks with HOBs on the end ? Say I had an AC 30/50 on one end, how would I work that with the cover ? I use glass covers, as opposed to full hoods, on all my tanks currently. Should I buy a shorter cover, or cut the glass ? Please enlighten me ! Thanx.

Would there be room for light legs? Maybe hanging lights & a shorter glass top. I think I'd get a piece of glass cut at Lowe's to see how it works.

i think the easiest way to do it would be to go topless with your light on legs.

I took my shirt off, but the filter still won't fit on the aquarium at the end.

I have an aquaclear 110 on the end of a 75 growout tank that doesn't have a proper cover. I use 2 recycled tempered glass doors from an entertainment center to cover the tank. They hang out a little over the back, but I epoxied a knob onto the smaller one for a handle to slide it open/shut. Large sponge filter at the opposite end of the tank, and an Eheim aquaball powerhead to help circulate water/debris toward the hob intake. Not a show tank, but it works well.

I plan to try this with an aquarium soon. I'll be putting the filter on one end and using a 10 gallon hood with a 20 long aquarium. It should leave plenty of room.
