If I can get a tank for cheap, and find a place to put it, it will definitely be mine.
I don't think so. Fancy bettas have been bred to increase aggression, so wilds typically aren't nearly as nasty. I know I can house a pair together in a 6 gallon for life with no issues. I'm gonna go by the shop today and see if they can order the other sex. If they can, new tank time
It doesn't matter whether a Betta sp. is wild or not it depends on the exact species. Certain ones have males that don't tolerate each other, many others are fine together. B. splendens is one of the species that has intolerant males, and off the top of my head B. pugnax are at least as bad.
Very true, but fancy splendens are much worse than wilds. I've heard that B. anabantoides is another really nasty one.
I have a 50/50% chance of getting these guys. My parents aren't too fond of the idea.
