UV sterilizer

ok well i may as well get one then even though they are a little on the pricey side

anything to protect the cichlids lol

I was on my local craiglist and the ones for sale all needed new bulbs. Are the bulbs cheap? Hard to replace?

Not hard to replace, usually pricey. $20-$40 for a new bulb depending on make and model. Check out google to find out what bulb you need and check out ebay for prices on the bulbs.

i normally buy from this page http://www.aquariumproducts.com.au this is the

UV:

Which one would best suit me only thing i am worried about is the flow rate i have is quite high but the tank i have isn't that big every sterilizer i can find for my flow rate can cure up to like 10000 liters and my tank only being 350 liters so i am a little bit worried it is over kill.

talking about that is there such a thing as overkill for a uv light are there any consequences?

i have been thinking to help keep the cost down i might be able to buy a smaller one that is suited to my tank size and put 2 T junctions in the pipe from the eheim to the tank with a on off tap to regulate the flow through the UV light...

anyone see why this would not work or has anyone done this before?

I recently bought a UV sterilizer and love it. With two Eheim filters + UV, water is so clear that my fish look like they are floating in liquid air. More importantly, I have peace of mind because I know that free floating harmful bacteria and parasites have no chance surviving.
