::::sorry in advance this just became really scattered and was really just intended to be a quick post. About how pleased i was with my purchase and customer service from drfoster'sandsmith.com .. and the spelling and grammer is worse that an elementry student.
i was pricing out regulators for a co2 system , because i have a full 20lbs tank laying around here just looking back at me all the time saying use me. i decided to see what the discount tool store down the road had for welding gauges. i bought an aargon /co2 duel pressure regulator for around $38 while there. then i got home and was looking at it, it seemed cheapish but would work. as i was trying to figure out how i was going to arrange it with my other stuff i realized i would really need a bit more equipment to pull it off. i needed a way to reduce the nozzel to fit airline tubbing around, a bubble counter or a diffuser and i saw that dr.foster's has this semiauto co2 system for $120 online while i was look at some lights.. so i just said what ever and bought it...I NEVER DO THAT. i have such buyers remorse about things i buy decide i didnt need or never will use, i would also like to be able to handle the things i buy to get a feel for there qualiy, i hate buying things twice that i could have just bought a better one the first and only time. i also want to be able to return it with out having to ship it back at cost to me. anyway..
i waited for 5 days and it arrived when i said it would .
first i opened the box and was suprised to find these green packing peanuts, i'd never seen green ones before. i dug a bit and there was another smaller box. opening that one i found the regulator, tubing, bubble counter, and a white box that was wrapped in a LOT of bubble wrap. set those aside and just took in my new cool stuff.
first i wanted to compair the co2 regulators, the first one i bought had an adjustment in the center on the gauges. drfosters didnt , i was like what the f.. how do i ...turnes out there is a smaller control dial after the magnetic valve that should do the same job... i have to say i was happy with that part of my purchase.
then i got to the white box, it was suppose to be a glass diffusser, IT WAS IN TWO PEACES..that sucked... i hadn't realy planned on using that part so it wasnt so bad. i waited a day ..and decided i'll call them to see if i had to send it back if i wanted it replaced. i thought it was going to be a big process...
i called there 1-800 number. i told them i recieved a part that was broken, and they guy on the phone said he was sorry and asked me for some of my order information. he said they sell that part individually and he would just send it out to me. i didnt have to pay shipping or send him the damaged one. i though that was awesome. he even offered to expodite the shipping so i could get started setting my system up.
i work in commission based retail and i understand and expect customer service... this guy on the phone told me his name right off the bat, made me feel like i wasnt inconvienceing him, and solved my problem quickly and at no additional cost to me.. this has been the best online purchase / return situation i have ever had to deal with .. if you are aprihensive about ordering online like i was i hope my story helps.. i will definatly buy from them in the future when i decide what lights to get.
oh and those green peanuts were biodegradeable , you just stray them with water and they disolve in the sink.
