Starting my 75G SW tank

I have had my 75 gallon tank up for 2 weeks now, Just have my live rock and CC in it.. My CC is starting to turn brown on top. Why? Is this normal?
Also I noticed a pink fireworm in the tank along with alot of other little critters that I have no idea what they are. Are these tag along critters going to be a problem in my tank or should I leave them alone??

Perfectly normal for a substrate in the early stages of a tank. There will be more...lots more!

Worms are beneficial members of your tank as the are probably the hardest worker amongst your CUC. Obviously if its truly a fireworm don't touch it. Other than that it should be fine. Some people just don;t like worms so if you want it out there are a number of worm traps if you google them. You'll probably catch every worm but the one you want

Hitch hikers are perfectly normal. Some are good and some bad. Just part of the deal. Just need to research or post some pics to figure out which is which.

Actually, your best bet would be to remove all of that CC (Crushed Coral). Crushed Coral is a BIG NO-GO in saltwater aquariums. Most LFS's will try to sell that crap to you because they have just your average Joe selling you the stuff. Crushed Coral A.K.A. a Nitrate Factory will cause you nothing but problems in the future. You clean up crews have a HORRIBLE time trying to move the stuff so your fish waste, food and anything else just basically sits in the tank rotting. The rotting in turn Creates Nitrates, which are toxic for your cherrished little friends. If i were you, i would simply remove as much of that crap as possible and replace it with Live sand. Your clean up crews and Livstock will thank you for it. I mean honestly have you ever seen the bottom of the ocean??? Is it sand or Crushed Coral??? Think about it.

That's not 100% true and I've found my CC quite beneficial since I don't have alot of rubble sifting critters and I love it. It's really an opinion/preference matter.

I actually don't have a clean up crew. The fish that I happen to like do not get along with such creatures.. I am about to upgrade to a 220 gallon tank. I ordered it on Friday! I can't wait to get started!
