Apistogramma cacatuoides "orange" updates

So, these guys would eat RCS if kept in a 10 gallon with them, right? What if it was heavily planted? I WANT some lol. Could put them in the 36, too.

Yours are lovely. Mine seem to have a hint of yellow with blue flecks around the cheek area. So odd how 2 apistos that are labeled the same can looks so different.

they are perfect for a 10-20g VF ;) don't you have one of those kicking around somewhere?

Yeah I have one or two of those hang'n around. Of course with the electricity rate caps coming off this month I will probably get the hairy eye from the Mrs. if I start another tank.

Definitely will seek and destroy shrimp, lol. I had ONE out of hundreds of shrimp survive them. Even the baby apistos will seek out juvie shrimp as soon as they can.

shhh, we won't have talk like that

Great looking little fish there... you'll probably be selling them right about when my new tank is (Or should be at least...) ready for stocking :)

For the guy asking about RCS with apisto's they wouldn't last a second. I tried to put some shrimp in with my community tank. I dropped about 6 hoping some would make it. My german blue ram and peacock gudgeon took them all down before they could even reach the bottom.

I have kept guppies with RCS and they seem to ignore the shrimp, I have sparkling gourami with them now. Sparkling gourami only grow to like a inch and a half and I am pretty sure they are picking off smaller ones. I think your best bet with cherry shrimp is a neon or cardinal tetra setup or maybe guppies. I have a hillsteam loach in that tank too but I am not 100% sure he isn't picking them off as well. He moves so fast and chases shrimp and eats there food but I wouldn't be surprised if he was actually chasing them.
