Wow.:jaw:

The Op asked us if WC is necessary and why. Why is it thier job to carry the burden of proof for our answers?

As for the benefit of assumption all you are saying is that we the majority have the benefit of one of the worst ways to make a decision known to man.

OP made statements to the effect that water changes are not necessary. He asked for reasons why, that were measurable. He was given these (I repeat, TDS and hormones). He chose to ignore these.

I have no idea what your second statement means, even after re-reading it.

OP carries the burden of proof in his argument. We (the majority who feel that WC are important) have the benefit of assumption. Therefor, we need not try to back up our own claim, which is generally accepted. Rather, the OP, and those who agree with him, need to provide evidence that WCs are in fact, unimportant.

Exactly what I was trying to communicate in my post, except I took the long way around :o

It is the op's job to clearly articulate the proof behind his theory, as other members have been attempting to do for, oh I don't know, the last 30 pages!

A picture can terminate 30 pages of post. :)

My Pico Tank:
Nemo and Dori
1 quart
Deep gravel bed
No water changes.. ever. (they even survived a week without water, OMG) I just top the water off.
I don't feed them.

So, I think Kaz is right.

Where did he go anyway? No posts for pages now.

Yeah, I wonder if I should take a poll to see how many people agree with me on that one. (And you won't find the post btw, it was deleted...and I never said it...it was more of a rebus thing :))

It was childish, yes. But I got a little fed up with the "attack mode" of the OP and if you will notice, he made fun of lots of the things I said. Even though they were entirely based on misunderstandings - I never said UGFs were better than regular filtration, I never said fish need people to stimulate them...etc.
