mafia 63- Who is Who

lordy, if this is day 1 i'm going to find me a nice piece of slate to hide under...... lol! kidding, of course!

i vote to lynch johnlarson

we can still vote right? (BFM glances at her newb card yet once again.....)

Yes, you can vote at any time except during night time.

Any particular reason for voting JL?

not a particular single reason, just my observations n such.

BFM, care to share with the rest of us what your "observations n such" are? While I am honored to have your vote, it would be nice to see a reason. Any reason at all, maybe you hate Pandas? You don't hate Pandas do you?

In this game, it is not about out numbering the mafia, it is about killing the boss (or vice versa).

As far as finding teamates, the boss has to send a name in. Why would we want to lynch someone that a boss most likely would not send their name in?

I have a good list of 6 people that I think would either be picked by Ice to be a boss or that bosses would pick to be on their team (or get investigation results).

The 50/50 chance of someone being a mafia goon, to me is a cop out and not good for the town. The boss and anyone the boss is comunicating with are the ones to be lynched.

Probably not, but then you are assuming Ice would tweak results. I'm not Ice so I'm not going to base any suspects off of pointless assumptions.

Exactly.

I honestly think both "plans" presented (Mads and JLs) are rather useless. I am more inclined to go with JBs method...vote for the scummiest person.

You think it is a pointless assumption that Ice tweaked the roles? There is no way I believe that. Are you nervous that you are on my list of 6 players?

I am not sure if I presented a plan, more like I told the town what I was thinking and put my ideas out there. Odd that you are piggy backing on JB, you usually have some orginal thought. You really think there is going to be s "scummiest person" on day one when at most there are two teams of two communicating outside the thread, with one of them being innocent? The ones that look scummy could very easily be for the town. I think you said yourself that the mayor might want to lurk to play it safe (which by many is considered scummy).

I also disagree with anything presented in the game as being useless. Even you calling it useless is very telling.

So you're not concerned about accidentally lynching the mayor if indeed your abbreviated list contains both bosses (both mafia don and mayor are bosses)??? To me, it's better to be more conservative at first...after a couple of nightfalls, when communication emerges and patterns can be seen, then it would be safer to then focus on who is the mafia don as hopefully we will be able to distinguish between don and mayor.

Unless, of course, you're really gunning for the mayor...

As far as taking out someone either boss may investigate, without having a clue as to which side you're lynching, you're potentially eliminating stronger players from the town's team (yes, I realize the inverse is true as well). I still think eliminating any mafia goon is a step in the right direction for the town. A 50/50 shot is as good of a chance as any day 1 nightfall, and without any communication on either side there is nothing to really go off of.

So, this is all we've heard from Razz, TRS, and Ag. Where are you guys? I'd like to hear from each of you. Are you guys gonna UD?

Hey! Just got home and I see as always there isn't much going on.
Check again Razz, there have been several strategies thrown out there.

very interesting, sorry havent been on. got to catch up
Well, you've had plenty of time to catch up on the things you found "very interesting". I agree with others that this statement was scummy, Red. Please enlighten us about what was so interesting.

Wow Ag, your contributions to the town are blowing me away! Two whole words and a smiley. Care to add a third word to the thread?

Either way you're still drawing names out of a hat. You've narrowed the list down a bit, but it's still the same thing. You don't know anything more about those people than anyone else, other than Ice might have hand picked them to be a boss. Are you just going to randomly choose then?

The game is also about NOT lynching the mayor, which according to you is one of the people on your list. I suppose you'll want credit for outing the mayor too?

Not to mention that list is totally subjective. The three names you left off the list almost seem to be better boss suspects to me just because of the fact that they do well in not being targets and are hard to pin as scum. There's a lot of experienced players in this game so if Ice really wanted to handpick someone I don't think he needed to do much trimming himself.

You're trying to find the mafia boss, awesome...but honestly, you're not any closer than the rest of us.

Here are six people...

Jpap
Rich
Zaffy
Agi
Mad
JB

Do you think Ice would have any problems with assigning (or picking) any of these people to be a boss? I don't see any issues.

Btw, those are just the first six people (excluding newbs) on the player list.

I honestly think trying to get into the mod's head is just a waste of time.

I wonder if these discussions we have about the mods and picking roles has ever been all that fruitful. With 12 players at the start and few roles to fill I do not see how we could gain anything useful from it. Three nightfalls from now that could be a whole other ball of wax.

I would agree that Ice would give the roles to players he thought would keep the game going and are skilled at not getting lynched. I could see him pulling say 8 players from the pool and picking from those.

This is my favorite post of the game so far, Rich. I love that you blatantly bash the conversation, then put in your thoughts on it. Well done!

I see your point Lab. It is a risk to both teams, neither team wants their boss to die, it would mean game over.

Until the teams are able to communicate it will be hard to determine anyones status. While I strongly believe that the mafia don is one of the players I listed, I also strongly believe that the mayor is one of the players I listed.

I am guessing that the innocent/mafia roles were random and then Ice tweaked the bosses and hitman/policeman roles.

So with that in mind, I think I will pay special attnetion to the players I lised, but it is not in best interest to lynch of them on day one. Those players actions will determine how I vote.

I am still unwilling to vote a newbie on day one. I also think that Mad's idea about going after players that are generally not involved with the game (very rough interpation) makes sense on day one.

I retract my vote on Madcrawdad.
