Peppered corys scared of Julli corys or what?

I have 3 peppered corys and 3 julii corys in a 20L which has sand substrate and no other fish. The filter is an Eheim 2215 and water parameters are excellent (0,0,10, pH=7.2, temp=76).

The julii guys are hyper active whereas the peppered guys are just sitting at the bottom under a rock. I don't see unusal signs on the peppered corys' bodies. The peppered corys were active before I put julli corys in the tank one week ago. The julii's were QTed for 3 weeks.

How do you explain this?

Peppers are naturally more reserved. They just have to get used to the new guys. They will be okay eventually.

So, each subspecies of the cory has different behaviors? I hope that's the case. The 3 peppers have been through a lot since I got them 6 weeks ago because I had never had corys before.

I bought 2 groups of 6 Pepped Cories at different time long fin and short fin. It took a couple of days for the original group to become active again, but I've become the common enemy...LOL (I moved them recently) They are a happy group other wise been together for 3 weeks now.

So I think you have no worries.

Cories are possibly the friendliest fishes you can have in an aquarium. You shouldn't be worried about them not getting along.

Its normal peppered behavior, I have 13 of them in my 55G and they spend a lot of time laying around. They have periods of activity, usually evening and morning, but for the most part just hang out together under logs.

My peppered are the same way in my 60 gallon. I have four albinos in there that are crazy hyper and going constantly. However, I usually only see the peppered really cruising about once a day or so. I'm always happy to see them, as they are also harder to locate since I have a black substrate. They are cute though - they often cruise around in what looks like a conga line.
