I was getting a little bit of cabin fever, what with all the snow we've had, so I decided to get out into the woods today. There is a creek behind my lfs that I got permission to play around in, so I grabbed my field backpack and went out. Found a lot of stonefly and blackfly larvae, as well as a few mayfly larva, a water penny, some craneflies... nothing super exciting. I did catch a blacknose dace with really nice red fins, which was cool.
Also, slipped in the mud and ended up with 2 inches of mud caked on my backside for an hour.
However, it was totally worth it.
Also, I found this epic piece of driftwood, which I have no use for. But look, it's awesome!

My cat was infinitely less impressed than I was.

Nice wood...dry it out and sell it! Would look great with a hundred chilis around it...

wow!!! awesome piece you lucky duck!

You want it? I was actually planning on offering it to you, lol.
I'm not allowed to have any more tanks while I'm living with my folks, and even once I move out, it'll be a while till I can set anything up, as I will need money.
So, literally, it's just gonna be sitting in my backyard.
I just can't resist picking up nice driftwood. This is pretty hard too. A few softer spots, but most of it I can't sink a fingernail into.
