Mafia 65: Masons and Mafia (Game Thread)

Ok another edit, we dont know if jpap is innocent and JL just said they would try to lay low.

GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE

b4 i start talking just hear myself he he he.

Either way, JL, that's a heck of a lot of people voting for the same person. Unless there is a HUGE slip up I would expect the votes to at least be a little more spread out, especially with the way D1 tends to be...

I don't think day 1 will come down to a 8 to 7 vote.

At 72 hours whoever has the most votes will be the one to die.

This is also how I see day 1 playing out, like jpap and Ice said.

We need to be careful about spreading out to much. We don't want to spread so thin that a 3rd or 4th vote on someone can be the kill vote.

This is a good point. If it's spread too thin, mafia scum can place a last minute kill vote or two on an innocent before the 72 hour time limit.

Got a better choice Lab?

I quoted jpaps post and I thought I put out my thought pretty clearly. Jpap stated that to lynch someone it would take a "huge train". That statement is false. It will take over 50% of the vote.

Today it will take 8 votes to lynch someone. It could come down to a close race between two players.

Now there is the whole spread the votes idea, which is exactly what the mafia will be doing. My guess is that many players will wait to vote and many will want it to just be 72 hour days.

You don't think 8 is a "huge train"? I think 8, or even 7, is a "huge train". Yes, 8 vs 7 is a close race, but also two huge trains. I agree, spreading the vote is probably playing into the scums hands, since they can place their kill vote as they see fit. We also need to be careful, as I'm sure the scum would love it if the two huge trains were formed on two innocents. Right now, I'm not sure the best way to approach this game. 3 horse race? I would think in this game format, the scum would try to lay low for a while.

wow, this has been a great day one so far. Lets see, a train starter on jpap by JL, Zaffy defending jpap, and LR already asking about it all. Wow, am i the only one to see somethin in that?

 What are you seeing FF? Care to post your notes?

if that's the case i'll take 2!

:barf: Seriously, that is such a gross thought...you're my little brother...

I defended pap! reread my post please. Of course now I'm distancing right?

When Mad said it takes 8 to lynch all I said was that would be a big train. Do we not still consider more than 3-4 votes to be a train?

day 1 in a different type of format. Might be a bit tougher game. Can't wait to read what's been posted when I get home tomorrow night.

And JL going all out to say that the mafia wont try to stat a train on someone they know is innocent. After all we can never forget the chat b4 game bit, can we?

JL is trying to start a train on jpap, LR is already a little to suspicious.

Plz note that the mafia and mason prob know who is who among them, they could post b4 game started.

"I would say that 8 vs 7 is two trains!!!

Stick that in your pipe and smoke it."

Ok, i just thought it looked like a defense or trying to distract from jpap.

A note about the 72-hour deadline...

The purpose of the 72-hour deadline is to keep the game moving by creating a little bit of urgency for the town to work at lynching a player...kind of a 'last resort' if the town is unable to come to a consensus.

If it seems that people are intentionally waiting for night to fall at 72 hours (versus actively seeking a lynch) in order to revert to a 'popular' lynch scenario, I may consider removing the deadline in order to allow more time to come to a consensus.

The deadline will remain in effect for Day 1, but I may reevaluate its use on subsequent days, as the original intent of the deadline was to move the days along, not to drag them out.
