Mafia 65: Masons and Mafia (Game Thread)

What about an investigation or two for the masons team? Something to even it up with the mafia powers. I felt like our hands were tied, especially when we were so focus on keeping our own out of the noose.

I disagree about hands being tied...you KNEW the alignment 1/3 of the players in the game. That evened things up VERY well....

Keep in mind that if the mafia misses with a hit, they die. It's really up to the masons to not give themselves away.

Investigations IMO are bad idea, as I think the game is well-balanced as is...
 
How about something for the townies?

I agree, but maybe it was just because we were under fire from Day 1.

JL, I think you could do the same format as in how the voting works...but maybe a different theme or different roles or something.
 
Actually as soon as FF said 'I just assumed Jpap was innocent,' 5 minutes into Day 1, you should have cut him loose. IMO there was way too much defending by the mason team.

Oh yeah, I fully admit I played the game stupidly. :wall: I should have voted to lynch FF and been done with it. Same with Tex...was kicking myself for it later. We tied our own hands...I was having trouble playing along with the town when I knew the lynches were heading in the wrong direction.

I still feel an investigation or two would have been very helpful. Maybe an investigation for a townie instead of a mason.
 
I think it worked as is, I know it seemed Mafia sided but I think we got a few lucky breaks with low posters and what-not. I'll try and play but this one took a lot out of me and I've got a busy schedule coming up. I'll wait and see when start will be.

I'd also like to Mod again somewhere down the pipe, I have a few new roles in my pocket from playing on a couple sights, with some new powers and such we haven't used here before.
 
I get what Mad is sayiing too... where, the Mafia's strategy was to find the Masons and try to get the town to lynch innocents, the Masons part in this was that they were supposed to work together to figure out who the mafia was and lead the town while trying to make sure the mafia didn't figure them out...

It's up to you, but in every game there's vanilla townies who know nothing...I don't know that you'd want to change that. I think doing so could make things unbalanced in the town's favor.

Keep in mind, the town came close to winning this. It was actually things the the town did that led to their demise, not the setup:

1. Quick-lynching is a TERRIBLE idea. Three townies were quick-lynched with votes flying all over the place. The town needed to slow things down, and think about what was going on. Take the days out longer, and limit the mafia's communication.

2. The masons defended FF and Tex way too much, and way too early. They should have cut them loose if/when necessary.

Just my thoughts.
