Are we SURE this is a ghost shrimp?

I have next to no idea when it comes to shrimp but it does not look like any ghost shrimp I have ever had.

btw.. mine colored up once i fed him some pellets... they color up on good food :D

agreed 100%! We brought some home from the store that were very transparent, a week on their new food and they started getting green stripes and pink and green polka dots on their tails and pink bands on their legs.

What are you feeding your ghosties.?

This guys will eat ANYTHING. His diet includes frozen bloodworms, frozen brine shrimp, kens invert pellets, algae tabs, bottom feeder pellets, shrimp pellets, tropical flake food, algae, crushed snails...

My guess is it is either a ghost shrimp from a population that looks a little different than the ones I see at Petco, a ghost shrimp that is just MUCH better cared for than the ones at pet stores and therefor looks a little different, or a female macro shrimp, which would explain the smaller claws.

I'm with supersudo. That shrimp looks EXACTLY like my female ghosts that I've had since last summer, down to the markings on the antennae and the body color pattern. Mine are about 2" long I think.

I KNOW it's not that. Otherwise, I would sell that shrimp so fast my head would spin. :D

Haha, I'm just kidding.

Wow, it actually does look a little like that...LOL
I thought you were refering to the all black dwarf species, that sells for around 100$ a shrimp.
